Making modern coffee brewing simpler, more intuitive, and less exclusive.

Brewing with the AeroPress revealed the inverted method that, while effective, can feel precarious and reinforce coffee culture's elitist reputation. The brief called for a more accessible method, one that simplifies brewing while still encouraging connection through ritual. Blume responds by softening the AeroPress's mechanics into a form that feels more inviting, approachable, and considered from first use.

Form exploration drew on the AeroPress, Hario V60, and Chemex, testing how cylindrical press forms and conical brewing geometry could merge into one coherent silhouette. Rapid prototyping refined scale, ergonomics, and brewing interaction through hands-on iteration, while later consultation with industry contacts shaped material and manufacturing thinking as the concept matured toward something genuinely producible.

Blume exists as a concept product, with renders used to communicate its production intent and manufacturing feasibility. The result is a brewing method that keeps the AeroPress's inverted technique but presents it through a softer, more approachable form, proof that accessible design and ritual-led brewing aren't mutually exclusive, and a strong addition to a growing product design portfolio.
